Bishops Stortford and District Angling Society

Bishops Stortford Angling Society was founded in 1949. The society controls the fishing rights on four lakes, one close to the town centre the other three in Great Hallingbury. The society also controls the fishing rights on stretches of the River Stort at Bishops Stortford and Harlow.

"Boilies" and "Night Fishing on MBL"

"As from 1 October 2014 boilies (all sizes) and pellets over 8mm are banned on ALL club waters.
Anybody found using these baits after this date will incur an immediate ban from the Society."

"As from 1 June 2015, Night Fishing will not be allowed on the Malcolm Barker Lake.
Fishing will therefore only be allowed from 6.00am to 10.30pm (off the water).
This rule will be strictly enforced with regular bailiff patrols taking place.
Anybody found breaking this rule will incur an immediate LIFETIME ban."
