Back on Beggars Hall for the Wednesday club with some trepidation due to the results on Sunday where half of us blanked. Bit warmer today so maybe better. Eight fishing today so 4 on each bank – I drew peg 10 which has fished ok in the winter before so hopeful for a couple of bites. First hour had a liner every cast including some pulling the rod right round until an hour and a bit in had a carp around 8lb on popped up bread. Next 3 hours or so still getting liners but some proper bites on the method feeder casting close to the island branches.

Elsewhere John Todd and Fred were struggling on Pegs 16 and 17 – John Carter and Terry had one each and apparently Phil was catching a few. Couldn’t see Tony and Bill on 18 and 21. Finished with 6 carp for 44lbs 2oz just behind Phil who did well from peg 4 with 45lbs 14oz. There must have been a few fish at that end of the lake as Tony won the high bank with 30lbs 15oz from peg 21 beating pegs 16, 17 and 18.
