Charity Match for Mencap-Grove Cottage - Saturday 27 August at Hall Farm large lake. Entry fee £25 with a pools payout. Contact Tony Cruci on 07837 227017 for more details & to book your place.

General Notices. During this period of hot weather please restrain from using keepnets when pleasure fishing. Please ensure you are aware of the club rules & regulations as we have spoken to a few who are using boilies(not allowed), braided lines(not allowed) and gas stoves(not allowed).  We have also been informed of several anglers loosing their rods from takes! PLEASE ensure you are near your rod(s) when fishing and also if you do get a take then make sure your reel is adjusted appropriately.

Beggars Hall parking. Parking in the paddock next to the fishery is only allowed for anglers who have received permission from either the club or the land owner(Mr Streeter). You will get asked to move it if you don't have permission!

Hall Farm entrance. We have been informed that the un-even surface from the gate to the hard standing and the slope to the small lake will attended to soon.

Catfish in MBL. We have had positive sightings of Catfish in Malcolm Barker Lake! If you do catch one then DO NOT PUT IT BACK. There will be a keepnet under the bench on the entrance to the lake for use to hold the fish until 1 of the committee comes to deal with it. Please phone Robin Merritt on 07770 732895 if you catch one. Catfish can only be stocked on approved waters and ours isn't !!

Waterside Festival. We have again teamed up with Bishops Stortford Town Council and qualified coach John Pope from "Everybody can fish" to hold 2 days (20 & 21 August) for beginners to learn how to fish (children & adults) so if you want to know more then follow this link : https://www.bishopsstortfordtc.gov.uk/what-do/events/free-angling-coaching-sessions-0

Generally all fisheries are fishing well so hopefully where ever you go you should have a good day.

Regards

Robin Merritt - Honorary Secretary
